Marcia Kading has worked for over thirty years strengthening family relationships through direct service and community education. She has a B.A. in Education/Child Development and is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor.  In addition to CIMI training, she has taken the Touching Lives training which is designed for families of babies needing special care. She has also attended training in Korean Hand Therapy.

For 18 years Marcia was on the staff of Southside Family Nurturing Center, an agency in South Minneapolis that provides services to families at-risk for child abuse and neglect.  In 1978 she developed the Infant/Toddler program at Southside.  She worked with both parents and children providing in-center and in-home services.  She also helped educate the community on the subject of child abuse and neglect through public speaking, workshops and serving on various boards.  She continues her commitment to Southside on a volunteer basis by teaching the parents how to massage their babies.

Marcia has worked for Fairview Health Services since 1996.  As a Parent Educator in the Birth and Family Education Department, she taught Infant Massage and other classes for new parents and grandparents at the three metro hospitals.  She now works at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  She developed and teaches the class, How to Help Your NICU Baby.

Since becoming a Certified Infant Massage Instructor in 1995, Marcia has maintained a private practice where she offers a variety of services.  In addition to private infant/child massage instruction, she will come to a client's house to teach a small group of parents and babies.  The Infant Massage Mini-Session is a one-time class.  It is appropriate for ECFE classes or other groups wanting additional resources for families.

Korean Hand Therapy has been easily integrated into everything that Marcia teaches.  She now includes parent self-care as a part of all her classes and private instruction, demonstrating simple techniques that parents can do themselves.

Marcia is available to use Korean Hand Massage to treat pain, stress and illness for babies, older children and adults.

Marcia is a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.

Both Infant Massage and Korean Hand Therapy are adaptations of ancient traditions.  One of Marcia's strengths is the ability to adapt to different situations.  She is very flexible and will be happy to discuss how she can best meet your needs.
